Are You Ready to Be Baptized?

Being baptized is one of the most important decisions you can make in your spiritual journey. You’re telling the world that you belong to Jesus through the act of being immersed in water.

Why is baptism important?

When you get baptized, you commit to a beautiful, lifelong journey of trusting God and living the victorious life He has called you to live. Through baptism, you identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Repentance Is the Only Condition for Baptism

Repentance is turning away from your way of doing things. It is confessing that you need Jesus to make a change in your life. You can repent by asking God to change your heart. Tell Him about the areas of life you struggle in. Talk to God about your desires and your story. He wants to hear from you.

Repentance is not a one-time act, but a lifelong process. Every time a harmful thought enters your mind, or you act outside of God’s principles, repent and turn it over to God. Each time you feel angry or distressed, look to God. He is our Father, and He wants to help.

How Do You Prepare for Baptism?

To be baptized, you don’t have to be perfect. However, you should be ready to make changes in your life because of your newfound commitment to living for Jesus.

As you prepare for baptism, pray and consider the things in your life that need to change. Take some time to have courageous conversations with friends and family about the changes you would like to make in your life. Invite them to celebrate and join you for your baptism.
